They are strung on what is essentially a large metal spring. This wire has a permanant bend to it, yet it flexes easily to fit snugly on the neck. This wire is only made in 1 size, which is made for a " petite" neck . It's a great light weight choker that is also perfect for those who don't like bothering with an actual clasp!
